The National Broadband Map (NBM) is a searchable and interactive website that allows users to view broadband availability across every neighborhood in the United States. The NBM was created by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), in collaboration with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and in partnership with 50 states, five territories and the District of Columbia. The NBM is a project of NTIA's State Broadband Initiative.

FCC mulls whether police should be able to black out cellphones - The Hill's Hillicon Valley

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) issued a request on Friday for public comment on whether government agencies should be allowed to block access to cellphone networks. The request stems from an incident last summer when a San Francisco transit agency shut off the transmitters that allow for cellphone reception in four underground subway stations to disrupt a planned protest over a police shooting.

Sports fans: No 'economic rationale' for blackout rule - The Hill's Hillicon Valley

A coalition of sports fans and consumer groups urged the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to drop its sports blackout rule in a filing on Tuesday. The rule, first adopted in 1975, prohibits cable and satellite providers from carrying a sports event if the game is blacked out on local broadcast television stations.
