On its face, the intricate regulations that govern political action committees? fundraising and compliance are not particularly compelling for the average apolitical civilian. However, when PAC and Super PAC compliance issues provoke a bitter fight between POLITICO reporter Ken Vogel and FivethirtyEight blogger Nate Silver, things get interesting fast.

It all began when Vogel read a post by Silver in his blog on the New York Times? website and noticed that Silver?s understanding of Super PACs and their ability to coordinate with candidates was incorrect.
Vogel teased Silver for issuing a correction which he appeared to deem insufficiently apologetic. Silver took it to the next level when he accused Vogel of trolling.
At this point, Silver brought his famous lack of regard for POLITICO into the argument.
The argument became more substantive as Silver asked what he was incorrect about regarding PACs and Vogel informed him.
