Today for our weekly interviews we have Miss Kati over at "Kati's Little Corner of the World."
??Hope you enjoy what she ?has to say! :)
Tell us a bit about yourself.
I'm Kati. I am a child of the Heavenly Father, daughter, sister to two sisters and a brother (Kristin, Ryan, and Bekah), sister-in-law to two I think of as a brother and a sister (Brian and Sarah), and proud aunt to eight (Gavin, Maddie, Owen, Eve, Benjamin, Nora, Alaine, and Peter). I love to bake, photograph with my trusty friend Nick (my Nikon D3000), read, craft. I look forward to the day when I have my own home and family to take care of. In the meantime, I take comfort in the verse, "For I know the plans that I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope." --Jeremiah 29:11
What inspired you to start blogging?
My mom started a blog a few months before I did and I thought it would be a good way to practice writing for part of my English credits. It was a place that I could write what I wanted to and whenever I wanted. My own personal space.?
What are your hobbies and passions?
I see that you enjoy listening to hymns a lot. What are some of your favorites? :)
We go to a home fellowship where we sing hymns from a hymn book every week. If someone finds a new (to our group) hymn that has excellent words, we might give it a try. That way we have a broad exposure to many hymns. It's hard to name just a few favorites: Be Thou My Vision, The Solid Rock, He Hideth My Soul, All the Way My Savior Leads Me, and many, many more. Because I have so many favorites, if you asked me another time I might say something different.?Tell us about your blog.
My blog is a place where I post about some of my favorite things. I love that I get to write what interests me. I don't write what I think others might want to hear but what if important to me. I post a lot of my photographs, hymns, quotes and poems that I like, recipes... Every Friday I have a feature I call Photo Friday where I post a photograph I have taken. The first Friday of every month I provide a link-up so that my readers can show what they've captured with their camera. What is the main goal for your blog?
To quench the small thirst of writing I have. Hopefully, to inspire others with what I post.?When did you get saved?
I've grown up in a family who loves the Lord. I've been taught my whole life about our Heavenly Father. I've always followed Him, but a few years ago I realized that I never really gave myself to the Lord. What first got you interested in photography?
Three years ago, I took a nature photography class sponsored by Nikon. It was a week-long class where Nikon cameras were provided to use the whole week. Everyday we went to a different place to take pictures and learn techniques. Since then I've been interested in photography, ?and last year, my dream of owning a nice camera came true. I purchased my Nikon D3000, whom I named Nick, with money I received from graduation. What are your thoughts on courtship and modesty?
I don't have any experience with courtship as I've never been in a relationship. My parents felt that while I was still in high school that I wasn't ready to have a relationship since I had to graduate first. Since that time I haven't met the right person yet. I am all for courtship, though. Having one man and one woman interested in each other, I believe, is so much better then "trying out" a bunch of different people.I think that modesty is a good thing for a woman to have. I think that no belly skin should be showing, that skirts or shorts shouldn't be so short that there is any chance of anything inappropriate showing, and shirts and blouses so low that there is a large amount of cleavage showing.
How would you describe your personality?
Kind, quiet, generous, thoughtful.?What is your favorite bible verse?
This really is a hard question. There are so many good verses that it's hard to pick just one. I do love Psalm 91:2:?I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. If there was one thing you could say to new bloggers, what would it be??
If at first, you don't get a lot of comments or followers, don't get discouraged. I've been blogging for almost three years and I've just gotten up to 35 followers. Followers aren't everything. Also, if you're in blogger, you can look at the stats to see how many page views you've had on your blog and on a certain post. So even if people don't comment you can still see that people have seen it. Thank you Nela! I enjoy reading your blog!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You're welcome Kati, and I'm glad that you do. :)
So readers, what did you think of Miss Kati's answers?
Have you been enjoying the interviews so far?
