The state will spend $1.9 million from the Texas Enterprise Fund as part of an incentive package designed to create more than 250 technology-based jobs in Austin.
HID Global Corp., an identity security company, has negotiated a deal with the state and the city of Austin to build a manufacturing and distribution center that will employ between 239 and 276 people with an average salary of $51,398 per year. In addition to the TEF funds, the city of Austin will contribute $920,576 as part of a 10-year, performance-based grant. The deal must still be approved by the Austin City Council.
HID Global is a subsidiary of Swedish company ASSA ABLOY, the world?s largest lock maker.
