If you have been around the internet for long enough to remember when it was being referred to as the ?information super highway? then you?ll know this have changed significantly over the last 15 ? 20 years.
Even if you haven?t been around the internet for that long you should still know that things in the world of computing and the internet move pretty quickly and new developments are happening on what seems like a daily basis.
Just take social networking as a case in point. Arguably it started with Friends Reunited and MySpace, both of which were left for dead by the meteoric rise of Facebook. When Twitter first arrived on the scene no one could really understand what it was for, or whether it would catch on and yet today it?s massively popular.
Google, arguably one of the most successful internet companies have tried to launch their own social network G+ and at the moment it?s not clear whether or not it will succeed or be another failed project like Buzz or Wave. One thing is certain, since their launch on the stock market, there have been plenty of rumours about the demise of Facebook, or at least the beginning of the end.
What?s clear from all of this is that what works on the internet now and the big success stories of the moment are not guaranteed to continue that success in the future. Just look at what happened to AOL, Digg or Bebo (remember them?).
All this means, that if you plan on doing business on the internet you need to keep constantly evolving and ideally innovating in order to stay ahead, or at the very least stay relevant.
How can do you do this and focus on running your business at the same time? After all, it sounds fairly complicated staying on top of all these constant changes and advances. It is but you could do worse than speaking to people who have been in business since the days when internet access still involved using dial up modems and broadband was a distant dream, like Granta Network Solutions who specialise in offering services like search engine optimisation, web design and website management and internet business consultancy to help you and your business, whether you are looking to get started online or stay ahead of your competitors in the constantly changing landscape of the internet.
